Standard Dianetics
DIANETICS TODAY was published in 1975 as a culmination of the research and refinement of Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard, taking his new Routine 3-R ("R3R") technique and theory and the re-introduction of training in Dianetics for auditors starting in 1966. Standard Dianetics was introduced in 1969 and by 1972 had been even further extended into Expanded Dianetics. DIANETICS TODAY was designed for an auditor with no previous training, giving everything needed in one book, including the basic technology of study, itself.
Although it is recommended at this time to start out with our basic, general auditor training course, anyone interested in going straight into Dianetics trauma relief auditing can download DIANETICS TODAY and get started on their training. There are no prerequisites, and you can do a lot of the training yourself, from your own home. At some point you will need the help of another to work on the Communication Routines ("TRs" = "Training Routines") and help with the e-meter drills, if you have never been trained to operate an e-meter. So while you can get started studying on your own, and you should, also seek out an "Academy" in your area (such as a "RonsOrg") and enroll on a Standard Dianetics course there or arrange to receive coaching on the Communication drills, e-meter drills and procedures. Also recommended would be TIR Seminars given in your area (see their website for schedules).
(Note also that Dianetics auditing can be accomplished without use of an e-meter and for this we recommend TIR ["Traumatic Incident Reduction"] or our FreeScientology "STEP-UP" procedure, as a supplement to the good training you can pick up reading, studying and applying DIANETICS TODAY)
